Be hopeful. Be empowered”.

Impact

Within Impact, we consolidate and embed the learning from Identity and Insight. In these modules, we have uncovered, explored and reflected upon self-knowledge and self-efficacy. These insights – into individual and personal skills, motivations, personalities, beliefs and thoughts – will now, within Impact, be directed towards goal-setting.

Through a range of individual and small-group reflective exercises, students will consider how their learning can be converted into action. Which strengths or skills will help them become self-leaders? Where are their sources of support?

We will consider how they will implement, with their accumulated self-knowledge, their personal strategies and tools to meet and surpass the challenges that come their way. How can they – at times of such challenge - boost confidence and well-being? To this end, we will explore the tools (including the PERMA model) that can assist them as they move forward through school and to University and beyond.

Finally, they will be helped towards a self-leadership plan.

Students will be encouraged to treat their plans as ‘living documents’ and to monitor and re-evaluate them periodically. Goal-setting isn’t a ‘one and done’ exercise; goals will be calibrated and adapted to their environment.

Students will understand themselves better and have learned practical and powerful skills to support themselves through obstacles towards a clear sense of action and accountability for the goals they have uncovered in themselves.
