Connecting the Dots has a clear objective: to give students aged 16-18 the knowledge and skills to become self-leaders.
Self-leaders are intrinsically motivated, take ownership of their personal development and performance and can influence themselves and others to achieve their goals. They have higher levels of ‘happiness’ and purpose – founded upon deep self-knowledge and belief in their capacity to achieve (self-efficacy). Along the way, they have developed the understanding and skills to manage their emotions and understand others.
Using tools such as Padlet and Slido, we create a reflective, creative and safe environment for students to discover what makes them unique, to understand how their thoughts influence actions and to articulate their goals with the clarity and confidence that comes from self-knowledge and self-belief. This is why the Connecting the Dots programme is designed around 3 learning pillars: Identity, Insight and Impact – they guide the learning path to self-leadership:
To build self-knowledge, we explore everything that makes each of us, uniquely, us.
We take students’ learning about themselves and explore how beliefs and thought patterns impact behaviour.
We convert the learning from Identity and Insight into personal action and accountability.
